/ 01About

A supportive digital home for parents raising autistic children.

Parenting on the Spectrum helps families move beyond meltdowns, power struggles, and uncertainty — by discovering what a child's behavior is really communicating.

Through parent coaching, the Reconnection Program, journals, digital resources, professional training, and the Parenting on the Spectrum podcast, we offer compassionate, research-driven strategies that strengthen communication, emotional regulation, independence, and family connection.

Theresa's approach pairs clinical expertise as a BCBA and Autism Specialist with real-world parenting experience and a deeply relationship-centered lens. Her philosophy, Connection Before Correction, honors each child's strengths and teaches families to replace fear and frustration with curiosity, confidence, and meaningful connection.

"Children are not problems to fix. They are valued individuals with something important to communicate."

/ 02Our Philosophy

Connection Before Correction.

Five commitments that shape every coaching call, every program, and every resource we create for families.

  1. 01

    Listen to the behavior

Every behavior is communication. Before we react, we get curious about what a child is trying to tell us — needs, fears, sensory experiences, unmet skills.

  2. 02

    Lead with connection

Regulation happens in relationship. Connection Before Correction means the bond comes first — trust is what makes new skills possible.

  3. 03

    Honor strengths

Children are not problems to fix. We build on what your child already does well and design supports around who they truly are.

  4. 04

    Teach real skills

Communication, emotional regulation, independence, and flexibility — practical, research-driven strategies you can use tonight, not just in theory.

  5. 05

    Support the whole family

Parents deserve coaching, community, and rest. When caregivers feel steady, children feel it too — and the whole family moves forward together.
